Described and illustrated in the inventory of Herefordshire (1931-1934): "Font[...]: round bowl with three-strand interlaced band, short stem with intersecting arcading, moulded base with interlacing ornament and plinth with diapered ornament, late 12th century." Described and illustrated in the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland (2008): "This is chalice-shaped, made of four parts joined together. The round bowl is decorated with three-strand horizontal interlace and has a cylindrical stem, made of the same block of stone, with intersecting arcading. The chamfered round base has one-strand horizontal interlace in relief on the chamfer and chip-carved star motifs of irregular sizes on the vertical surface. The two stones forming the plinth are plain, the upper is in the form of a ring; the bottom is chamfered. The workmanship is rough and the decoration looks unfinished, for example the spandrels of the intersecting arcades are hollowed out, but the fields within the arcading are not. There is some surface damage to the bowl."
