Described in the inventory of Herefordshire (1931-1934, vol. II: 187): "Font: Now in grounds of Saltmarshe Castle -- round bowl, in two pieces, 12th or 13th-century." The entry for the ruins of the old church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO6763059068] notes: "Late C11. Less than six feet of walls remain with no features. RCHM volume II, page 187." The medieval church was replaced by a later building in 1873, listed in Historic England [List Entry Number: 1234797]: "Built as a parish church in 1873 by Edward Haycock junior, replacing an older church. It has been redundant since c1968 and was converted into a house in the 1990s."
