Scene Description: Source caption: "Church of St Dubricius. The local red sandstone of Ballingham church reflects the winter sunshine and adds to the atmosphere of this out-of-the-way hamlet. The nave is 13th century. The chancel and tower are late 14th century. The church was fully restored 1884-5 by W E Martin, but the 14th century roof was kept."

The font here is described in Herefordshire (1931-1934, vol. I: 21): "Font: octagonal bowl with curved underside, round stem and chamfered base, probably 13th century." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO576003165] notes: "Parish church. C13 to C15, restored 1884-5 [...] font perhaps C13 with chamfered circular base, cylindrical stem and octagonal bowl curved on undersides".
