Baptismal font of the Norman period [source: www.thisisryedale.co.uk/ryaedale] -- [Not listed in Bulmer's Directory of 1890, though it appears in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-1872, and in Bulmer's Directory of 1892]. The Parish web page [www.burythorpe.org.uk] informs that "the font is from the previous building." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE7890265046] reports a "C12 tub font" in this 1858 church.
