The entry for this church in the Société Historique de Lisieux [http://www.societehistoriquedelisieux.fr/saint-vaast-en-auge/] [accessed 15 October 2023] describes the font as medieval, consisting of an octagonal basin raised on a round pedestal base and a square lower base; the sides of the basin are decorated with foliage, with monsters at the angles; the square lower base has a dog's head in each angle ["Les fonts baptismaux doivent remonter au moyen-âge, je renoncé à en déterminer l’époque précise. Géométriquement, c’est une pyramide à huit arêtes, posée par son sommet sur un fût cylindrique : chaque face est sculptée d’un rameau de feuillages plats ; des monstres en demi-relief sont sculptés sous chacun des angles ; la base, du fût est carrée ; une tête de chien en relief forme agrafe, à chacun des angles"].
