Sa porte sud du 14e siècle était précédée d'un porche en bois. L'édifice actuel non orienté a été construit de 1878 à 1883 par Albert Béziers-Lafosse, la tour est l'oeuvre d'Arthur Regnault en 1898."

An old granite basin from the original font of the old church [source: 'Une centenaire néo-gothique: Église de Guignen', by Yannick Voyeaud in www.voyeaud.kom.fr]. The entry for this church in InfoBretagne [http://infobretagne.com/guignen-ancienne-eglise.htm] [accessed 10 August 2025] includes a mention of the old baptismal font that is much deteriorated but could be easily repaired: "Dans d'anciens fonts baptismaux, il est vrai détériorés, mais qu'il est facile de restaurer à peu de frais, en rapprochant et en reliant ensemble les deux parties qui les composent". A digital photograph taken in the interior of the church 26 December 2013 by GO69 [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Guignen_(35)_Église_07.JPG] [accessed 10 August 2025] shows an octagonal stone basin sitting on the ground next to the "Monument funéraire de Jean de Saint-Amadour"; it appears plain and the inner basin shape is also octagonal; this may be the old font mentioned above.
