The baptismal font at this church is described as two (?) re-used capitals, mounted one on the other, both probably from the ruins of the old Benedictine abbey that collapsed in the 15th century [source: 'L'art roman dans la province de Modène' (extrait du volume: P. Belloi - E. Colombini 'Itinerario romanico illustrato' (Modena, 1999)), in www.colombinieditore.it]. A number of objects originally from the old abbey church, including the stoups, may be seen in Wikipedia [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Abbazia_di_Frassinoro_-_Fragments_from_the_orignal_building] [accessed 9 August 2025]. [cf. Index entry for Frassinoro No. 2 for a stoup [or stoups] of the same origin in this church]
