The regional web site for the Saosnois [www.saosnois.com/nouans.htm] reports an overturned holy-water stoup at the foot of the right wall of the church, on the outside, that had been used by the rural guard for a long time as a pedestal to place their notices to the villagers. The same source remarks that it is a curious end to an object that is probably the basin of the old baptismal font relegated to the outside when the new font made of black marble fom Sablé was installed in its place inside the church. This source also suggests [rightly so] that it is a valuable object that should be returned to the inside of the church.
