L'édifice a été reconstruit au début du 18e siècle sur le fonds de l'ancien prieuré de Saint-Péran [...] Il conserve la porte sud du porche de l'ancienne église priorale datée 1592 et un bénitier (peut-être d'anciens fonts baptismaux déclassés) portant la date 1702."

The holy-water stoup currently in use at the Église de Saint-Péran and dated 1402 is Identified as a the old baptismal font in the Communauté de Communes de Brocéliande [www.cc-brceliande.fr/fr/patrimoine.html]. The above dating is contradicted in the entry for this church in Mérimée [ref.: IA35017448]: "Il conserve la porte sud du porche de l'ancienne église priorale datée 1592 et un bénitier (peut-être d'anciens fonts baptismaux déclassés) portant la date 1702." The related illustration in Mémoire [ref.: IVR53_19943500820X] shows a vessel mounted on a ledge in the porch, on the left side of the doorway; the object appears of a roughly oblong but irregular shape, with a rounded inner basin; no base.
