Baptismal font of the 17th century donated to the church by the Confraternity of Taylors and Hosiers ["Confraria de Sastres i Calceters"], which would account for the presence of the scissors motif and the image of St. Lucia on the font. The font is illustrated in a 1920 photograph by Josep Salvany i Blanch now at the Biblioteca de Catalunya [http://mdc.cbuc.cat/cdm/singleitem/collection/bcsalvany/id/6306/rec/67] [accessed 1 June 2013]. The font consists of a very shallow round basin with patterned sides and underbowl, four figures (?) at 90-degree angles on the basin side; raised on a slender shaft that has a foliated capital atop, the stem decorated with a statue [cf. supra] and a pair of open sccissors below, and a round-to-square moulded lower base. Though described as a font [pica baptismal"] in the sources, it resembles a holy-water stoup and its design and position at the corner by the entrance in 1920, would suggest that function.
