Noted in the web site of the Diocèse de Reims-Ardennes [http://catholique-reims.cef.fr] as a baptismal font of 11th century. Described and illustrated in Jean-Luc Collignon [http://jeanluccollignon.blog4ever.net/vaux-champagne-le-mystere-de-la-face-cachee] [accessed 12 June 2016], who dates the font in the early-13th century. The font consists of a grey limestone basin of roughly cylindrical shape with four human heads protruding at 90-degree angles, their underside lined with a leaf-like motif; the sides between the heads are decorated with foliage motifs, but one side has an odd-looking grotesque head with two rounded arm-like motifs stemming from it; metal staple at the upper rim; raised on a plain lighter-colour stone that is obviously a later replacement. A wooden cover on it, round, flat and plain; appears modern.
