Chalice-shaped baptismal font of the 15th century made of bronze in the Gothic style, described and illustrated by Ján Maxin. 17th-century low-dome cover with an orb finial [NB: there may have been a cross on top originally]; it is painted and bears a German inscription from the Gospel by Mark ["Let the children...]; there is a clasp to lock the font. The basin itself is bucket-shaped, decorated with an arcade of narrow arches with figures and scenes: Adam and Eve by the Tree of Life, an Annunciation, Crucifixion, St. George and the dragon, the Apostles Peter and Paul, and the martyrs Barbara and Catherine; at the upper side, just below the rim, another inscription chiefly in Latin, done in a Gothic miniscule and related to baptism. The base is conical, splaying out towards the bottom and decorated with a roll moulding in the middle. This same source informs that "this baptismal font was exhibited in Prague in 1937". [source: www.oabar.edu.sk/projekty/stranky_ziakov/2002_...] [NB: the transcription of the basin inscription is not entirely correct; on the font the word 'amen' follows the word 'domini', just before the floriated cross]
