Described and illustrated in 'Lancashire Churches' [www.lancashirechurches.co.uk/lindale.htm]: "The font was presented to the church in 1913 and is of high quality, showing the power of simplicity. It is a bowl in the Norman style, with a band of intersecting arches, and below, where it tapers to a plain column, boldly carved interlace. It would grace any church." [NB: although this font falls outside the chronological scope of this Index, it is included here as an example of modern font based on an old, Norman, design]. [cf. Index entry for Lindale No. 1 for a stoup or font, perhaps of the Saxon period, in this church]
