There are ten entries for Norwich [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TG2308/norwich/] [accessed 13 October 2020], one of which records "22.7 churches. 2.57 church lands" in it; a separate entry records a priest and a church in it. Octagonal mounted baptismal font of the 15th century. The basin is octagonal with vertical sides, the panels framed and decorated with floral and foliage combinations; the chamfer of the underbowl is slightly curved, and decorated with floral and foliage patterns as well; the stem of the base is octagonal, each panel decorated with a rosette with square outer shape [but not a 'square flower']; the lower base splays out; the plinth is octagonal, both plain. The Tasburgh community web site [www.tasburgh.com] informs: "in 1938 a beautiful font dating from the 14th century was brought from the disused Norwich church of St Simon and St Jude." [cf. Index entry for Tasburgh]
