There is an entry for Eastrington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SE7929/eastrington/] [accessed 27 July 2014], and it mentions a priest and a church in it. A font here is noted in Glynne's 2 April 1867 visit to this church (in Butler, 2007): "The font has an octagonal bowl on a stem". Described in Hall (1892) as an octagonal mounted baptismal font. Probably of the 15th century, Perpendicular period; the steps on which this font stands are probably Norman work. Betjeman (1958) mentions a "curious crane to 17th-century font cover".
