Identified in the Glencairn Museum collection with no. 09.SP.316 is a "Sculptured stone, marble -- Syrian -- Font -- VI century" [no provenance given]. The object resembles a goblet-shaped pedestal stoup and consists of a round upper volume, the basin, with a protruding upper rim -now badly damaged- the bottom tapering in slightly, and its sides decorated with long oval motifs all around; the stem of the base has vertical sides and appears octagonal, with double braid or rope mouldings at either end; the lower base is cylindrical and moulded. [NB: there are no other such objects in this Index to compare it with]. Property of the Glencairn Foundation, on loan to the Philadelphia Museum of Art [returned in 1999].
