Phelps (1836) reports an ancient font in Malperton [which he places in Somerset]. 'A Guide to the Camelot Parishes' notes that the Norman font was found in the churchyard and restored to the church in 1922 [source: http://camelotp.webspace.fish.co.uk/html/maperton.html]. The National Monuments Record [http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=262062] [accessed 22 September 2009] notes: "Font, an octagonal bowl on circular shaft and base, somewhat damaged, possibly C12".
