The Journal of the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society (1908) [https://archive.org/details/journal06socigoog/page/n3/mode/2up] [accessed 2 August 2025] has a reference to this font as being presented to the church in 1623 by John Curlestone, Provost of Tralee [cf. infra]
Described in a report by the local secretary of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland for Co. Kerry for the Society's Journal (1892, vol. 22: 300-301) as a baptismal font dated to 1630 [cf. infra] by an inscription; the font is originally from the old church of St. John, or 'Teampull a Solais' which stood in the place of the new Protestant church.
