Described in a report by the local secretary of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland for Co. Kerry for the Society's Journal (1892, vol. 22: 300-301) as a baptismal font dated to 1630 by an inscription; the font is originally from the old church of St. John, or 'Teampull a Solais' which stood in the place of the new Protestant church.
