In his notes on the church of Blackrath for the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland (1894, vol. 24: 192), J.G. Robertson mentions the font at Sheestown: "In one of Miller's sketch-books there is a drawing of a small font belonging (A.D. 1814) to Sheestown Church. This font had also human heads sculptured upon it."
