Described in Cooke (1903: 382) : "A fine and unusually large font remains in Christchurch, Dublin". The November 2000 Church Review (on-line periodical of the of the cathedral church) issue informs of the steps being taken to build a 'treasury' for the Cathedral's plate. Among the items cited, is "The font in which Cromwell's grand-daughter is said to have been baptized", obviously a portable basin made of plate which the Review informs, "will remain in the northside chapel".
