Described in Cooke (1903: 382) : "A fine and unusually large font remains in Christchurch, Dublin". The November 2000 Church Review (on-line periodical of the cathedral church) issue informs of the steps being taken to build a 'treasury' for the Cathedral's plate; among the items cited, it informs, is "The font in which Cromwell's grand-daughter is said to have been baptized", obviously a portable basin made of plate which the Review informs, "will remain in the northside chapel" [source: www.cccdub.ie/whatsnew/review]. NB: the main font in this cathedral is a sumptuous work one made of dark marble in the 19th century and located in the baptistery, a northwest chapel].
