Described and illustrated in Westropp (1900: 129, 130) [Westropp read his paper to the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland, of which he was a fellow, on 29 April 1899]: "Near it [the crypt] is a simple but interesting font, resting on an octagonal pillar, with round fillets to fours sides, and a moulded head with a round basin." In Westropp's plan of the convent, the font is located in the NE corner of the nave, near the chancel. There is another mention of this font, also in Westropp ([?]): "probably of the fifteenth century, at Killone convent".
