Described and illustrated in Berry (1904: 102 and ill. on p. 101): "an oblong basin, probably that of a stoup" found ca. 1904 among other dressed stones in the churchyard of the ruined church of Kilcomeny, near Bridhill. The date of the remains is judged by Berry to date to the late 15th or early 16th century, which may be the date of the stoup. The illustration [by Thomas Westropp, also of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland] shows a fragment, rectangular, missing one of the sides, with a caption that reads "13. Stoup"] [cf. Index entry for Nepwort, Co. Tipperary, for a carved 'holy water font' originally from Kilcomenty, but later moved to Birdhill and, later still, to the R.C church at Newport]
