The index to the "Letters containing information relative to the antiquities of the County of Waterford, collected during the progress of the Ordnance Survey in 1841" lists under no.135 for the Parish of Kilmolash, Co. Waterford, the following entry: "Near this doorway [i.e., the west gable doorway on the south wall of the ruined old church of St. Molash] is a holy water which had some ornaments, now nearly effaced". The Pilgrimage in Medieval Ireland site [https://pilgrimagemedievalireland.com/2016/07/23/kilmolash-church-co-waterford/] [accessed 31 July 2025] informs: "A fragment of a font is also found in the graveyard and likely the same as the one identified by Buckley in 1898 and found in the graveyard wall and kept in the church (Power 1898, 92). In 1894 Redmond recorded that ‘… a holy well exists in a field adjoining the church, but that it was covered in many years ago, and now no trace of it can be found’ (Redmond 1894-95, 155)."
