In his report to the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland, after a visit to the ruins of the church of Skreen he made in 1894, Westropp (1894: 230) reported that "some pieces of a large plain font also remain". A "reconstructed" baptismal font, perhaps a reconstruction of the font from the fragments reported iby Westropp in 1894, is listed in a current [ca. 2000] web site for the church dedicated to St. Columba in Skreen [source: http://tower_house.tripod.com/irishhistoricmonuments]. The entry for this church in Curious Ireland [https://curiousireland.ie/skreen-church-co-meath/] [accessed 30 July 2025] reports: "Inside the tower are the fragments of a baptismal font".
