Font Notes:
Illustrated in Mosteiros e conventos... (2002: 105): this baptismal font consists of a quasi-cylindrical basin, slightly wider at the bottom, raised on a plain slender cylindrical column. The sides are decorated with a pattern of diagonal ribs, actually the result of a shallow carving off the parallelograms between the ribs. The result is a stark but ellegant vessel, with a date probably closer to to the major renovation the church underwent in the early 14th century, thatn to the mid-12th century original building. The font is now raised on an octagonal plinth, clearly modern.
