Duverger (2003) includes this font as one of the late 16th-century Mexican baptismal vessels with pre-Hispanic influences on their ornamentation, in this case, in the execution of the tendrils and the inscription that dates the font in the Franciscan convent to 1542. The font is noted with an illustration in a set of notes [course notes probably] posted on the web in the CAL STATE site http://instructional1.calstatela.edu/bevans/Art454L-07-HuexotlaChimalhuaca/I00007.html [accessed 1 May 2006] as "carved with joyful Indian floral motifs" [NB: the upper register of the basin side is decorated with the typical rendering of the acanthus leave by Mexican sculptors of the period; the lower register is more in the tradition of the Old-World scroll and/or tendril motif found on medieval baptismal fonts] [NB: Pope Paul III (1534-1549), born Alejandro Farnese (1468-1549)]. This font is featured on the back of the 200 peso bill [http://www.banxico.org.mx/billetes-y-monedas/informacion-general/billetes-y-monedas-de-fabricacion-actual/billete-de-200-pesos/pagina-billete-200-pesos.html] [accessed 31 May 2013] -- [Image at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Billete_$200_Mexico_Tipo_F_Reverso.jpg [accessed 31 May 2013]]. There is a plain small secondary font next to it [or is it attached?].. According to Ballesteros César (2008) the writer Octavio Paz (1982) got the date of Sor Juana's date wrong: "En cambio Alberto G. Salceda y Guillermo Ramírez España encontraron una fe de bautismo en la parroquia de Chimalhuacán, a cuya jurisdicción pertenecía Nepantla.
