Catalogued and illustrated in La chiesa di Jesi (2000: 284) as item 352: baptismal font of the late 15th century consisting of a monolithic octagonal basin of Verona marble in ochre/brownish colour mounted on the backs of six couchant lions in white marble. The panels of the basin are framed but blank, except the front which is decorated with a shield bearing the arms identified in this source as those of the Ghislieri family. The same source points out that the lions on which the basin rests may have been originally part of a different object. [cf. Index entries for Jesi Nos. 2-3 for two stylophore lions that serve as bases for the holy-water stoups in this church] -- [NB: the entry for the Museo Diocesano di Jesi in Cathopedia [http://it.cathopedia.org/wiki/Museo_Diocesano_di_Jesi] [accessed 19 October 2014] notes among the liturgical objects exhibited in it: "Fonte battesimale (XVI secolo), in ceramica maiolicata, ricavata da un vaso portaminestra, decorato all'interno con Battesimo di Gesù e nel coperchio con delicati motivi floreali."
