Listed in Brunius (1850: 507). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: [77] and pl. XXXVI: 2): medieval baptismal font of the Hald group ["Hallrödsgruppen"] made of sandstone. It consists of a cylindrical basin with a hemispherical underbowl, mounted on a base with a cylindrical stem, a thick round moulding with knobs at 90-degree angles that coincide with the angles of the plain square lower base. The sides of the basin are decorated with a band of inverted fleur-de-lis the upper part of which form an eclosed arcade; a thin roll moulding marks the end of the basin side and the begining of the underbowl, the latter decorated with a ribbed pattern all around. Ring moulding at the top of the stem. In Reutersvärd (1965). Described and illustrated in Drake (2002: 151, 184 and pl. 332) who lists it as part of the Blentarp Group III and gives the fonts at Hallaröd, Perstorp, Simlinge and Södra Åby as cognates. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900516F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the first half of the 13th century; the SHM acknowledges Tynell's attribution to a group [cf. supra] but does endorse the attribution, assigning it instead to a regional workshop [="regional verkstad"]. No cover present.
