Described in Tynell (1912-1923: [69]-70), who mentions a drawing in Bruzelius' Antikvarisk beskrifvning öfver Ljunits härad. In Reutersvärd (1967). The entry for this church in Svenska kyrkan [www.ljunitsforsamling.se/kyrkor/skarby] [accessed 6 August 2021] shows a photograph of the chancel of the church, and the corner-mounted font is partially visible in it. A 1990 unpublished paper by Jes Wienberg entitled 'Skårby kyrka' [https://lup.lub.lu.se/search/ws/files/6256740/4230814.pdf] [accessed 6 August 2021] reports two Romanesque baptismal fonts in this church: built into the northwest corner of the chancel are two fonts, one of top of the other: "Av de medeltida inventarierna är två romanska dopfuntar [...] [NB: the abstract of the above paper reads: "Report on the medieval parish of Skårby in Scania, Sweden. The report is part of a never fullfiled plan of publishing short building archaeological reports on all the medieval churches of the two counties Ljunits and Herrestad at Ystad in Scania as part. The investigation was conducted as a part of the research project "The Cultural Landscape during 6000 years in Southern Sweden", also called the "Ystad project"." Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900720F1] as a composite font made up of two different fonts with elements of both the 'Vitabygruppens godronnering' and the 'gotländska musselcuppstypen'; the upper basin is a dark limestone, rhe rest is sandstone; two different regional workshops; dating in the 13th century. No cover present. The metal baptismal dish was made of brass in the late-17th century.
