Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: 53 and pl. XIX: 4): baptismal font consisting of a medieval basin and a later base, although in the style of the period [cf. Index entry for Baldringe for a similar original base]; the cylindrical basin is decorated with a blind arcade around the upper side, and a series of large circled foliage motifs; the underbowl is decorated with stylised ribbed pattern, a dot or circle in each spandrel; the base is of the "round-on-square-with-corner-knobs" type, but Tynell (ibid.) expresses his doubts about its original appearance. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900720F3] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the first half of the 13th century by a regional workshop; the SHM entry remarks on the baptismal dish [="dopfat i mässing med Bacchusmotiv"]. No cover present. Baptismal dish made of brass in the 1660s, probably in Germany. [NB: the base may have been re-tooled, unless it is a modern replacement].
