Font Notes:
The main baptismal font in this baptistery is a raised piscina consisting of two basins: the outer one is octagonal with vertical sides; the inner is quatrefoil-shaped, also with vertical sides; the whole is raised on a very short octagonal plinth or lower base, wider than the outer basin. Like the rest of the baptistery, it is the work of master Benedetto Antelami [cf. Index entry for Parma No. 1 for the second font in this baptistery]
