Described and illustrated in Ramón y Fernández (1945: 377) and (1946: fig. 7): hemispherical baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the sides are decorated with two bands of ornamentation, the upper an inscription [cf. Inscription area], the lower with a variety of motifs including spirals, inscribed flowers and short ribs; framing the two bands at the top, middle and bottom, a round moulding all around. RyF (ibid.) suggests that the basin would have been origonally mounted on a pedestal base, but his illustration shows the basin fallen on the ground and leaning on one of its sides. [cf.
