Illustrated in Schlunk (1978: 60b); probably a purification container of the Jewish faith [mikvah?]. It is quadrangular in shape and one (?) of the shallow sides is ornamented with a seven-arm candelabrum [menora] in the centre and a bird to either side facing the centre; a tree is located between the candelabrum and the bird on the right; characters appear incised between the figures, the ones on the left side are Hebrew [cf. Inscription area below]; the characters on the rights might be Latin [idem]. Some Muslim and Jewish vessels were re-used for the Christian liturgy in Spain, France, etc. It is not clear whether or not that is the case with this object.
