Church Notes: built ca. 1068/1069; documented 1071; modifed several times since; late-Gothic tower;
Baptismal font of the early-17th century noted in Rainald Fischer's Die Kunstdenkmäler des Kantons Appenzell Innerrhoden. Birkhäuser, Basel 1984: 188. The font consists of an hexagonal basin with a flat moulding and a scotia around the sides, raised on a plain hexagonal stem and a moulded lower base, also hexagonal. Moulde dome font cover made of gilded copper in the 19th century; the sculptural finial is a scene of the Baptism of Christ by a palm tree.
