Listed as an early baptismal font in the web version -augmented- of the Églises romanes de Haute Auvergne (tome 1, pp. 45-50) [cantalroman.free.fr/Histoire/quotid.htm]. Noted in Craplet (1992) as one of only two important fonts in the Auvergne [the other is the font at nearby Mauriac]. Mentioned in passim in Le Guillou (1993) as a baptismal font of the early period [the context refers to the 12h century] ornamented with geometric motif. Noted and illustrated in Moulier (1999) as a baptismal font of trachyte stone with interlace patterns between mouldings on the sides of the basin; the base was originally made of three quadrupes, though one is now missing and has ben replaced by a block. The font consists of a large tub-shaped basin with a rim moulding, the sides covered in a broad band of assorted interlace pattern; below the quadrupeds [lions?] mentioned in Moulier above is a plain cylindrical lower base. The basin has a copper baptismal dish in it. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM15000136]: "fonts baptismaux [..] polychrome [...] En trachyte, de forme cylindrique [...] 12e siècle". In a 1959 photograph the font appears with a thick round flat wooden cover on it.
