According to the town's web site [http://www.totana.com/cgi-bin/monumentos.asp] this baptismal font was originally from the Iglesia de la Concepción, from which it was moved to the new [then] church dedicated to St. James. This same source informs that the transfer of the font, as well as the "Santos Sacramentos" and the archive, took place on 24 July 1567 on the consacrational procession.
