Scene Description: The Visigothic church is known to have served later as a mosque, and later still, in the late 11th century, as a Christian church, but we have no information of any font of that period in it. The baptistery is believed to have been located attached to the northwest end of the original basilica.

Described in Fontain (1973-1977) as a baptistery of the Visigothic period probably located in the north-east corner of the narthex, in the church of Nuestra Señora de Recapel. [NB: Fontain (ibid.) places Zorita de los Canes in Cuenca province; it now belongs in the neighbouring province of Guadalajara]. The Visigothic church is known to have served later as a mosque, and later still, in the late 11th century, as a Christian church, but we have no information of any font of that period in this church. [NB: Zorita de los Canes has also a Romanesque church inside the ruins of the medieval castle; this church is dated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla-La Mancha: Guadalajara (2009) to the late-12th or early-13th century, but there is no trace of a font left there]
