Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XXIV: 584): tub-shaped cylindrical basin made of local sandstone and dated probably to the late 13th century; the font, originally from the church of Sant Joan, the chapel of the castle of Montesquiu, is now in a private residence in nearby Vallbona de les Monges. The basin has been much damaged around the upper rim area, of which most is now missing; the sides are ornamented with large motifs: a geometric rodette of crossing circles in a hexagon and, to either side of it, a six-petal floral motif.
