Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XXIV: 371, 469-470): goblet-shaped limestone baptismal font probably of the late 12th century; the font consists of three volumes: the basin is round and elongated, ornamented with a row of rectagular motifs and a rope moulding below it at the upper basin sides; at the upper rim there are four square incisions at 90-degree angles [perhaps related to the fitting of the cover?]; below the rope moulding is a row of round arches without support; some of these, especially at the front, contain long rib-like motifs with a geometric incised pattern like a pine cone, but much taller; at least one Latin cross is visible under one of the arches; the underbowl ends in a roll moulding; the short pedestal base is cylindrical with at least one other cross symbol, similar to the one on the basin; the lower base or plinth is qaudrangular, almost square and is decorated with a diagonal incised pattern. This same source informs that the font appears to have been covered in whitewash but most of it is now removed.
