Directions to Site: The abandoned [now submerged] village of Muniáin is located near Artozqui, in the valley and municipality of Arce. It was was submerged ca. 2003 by the Embalse [dam] de Itoiz, in its NW area, S of the NA-2040

Described and illustrated in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?- , vol. IV*: 137 and pl. 200); in Domeño (1992: 163): medieval baptismal font of the 13th century; hemispherical basin decorated with arrises; cylindrical base with a roll moulding at the top and two others about half-way down the stem. The photograph in CMdeN (ibid.) shows a flat plain wooden cover locked to the upper basin side with a short chain. [NB: we have no infomation on the whereabouts of the font after the hamlet and its church were submerged ca. 2003]
