Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XX: 140) as a baptismal font probably dated to ca. 1000 and believed to be from the original church that preceded the Romanesque church of Santa Maria; the monolithic object is roughly bucket shaped; the division between basin and base is indicated by a roll moulding about hal-way down the sides of the object; the upper area is ornamented with large acanthus (?) leaves; the lower sides are plain. The stone is identified as being from Montjuïch ["pedra de Montjuïch"]. It is also suggested in this source that there may have been a columnar base originally.
