view of font in context

Scene Description: the font photographed ca. 2008 located at the east end of the nave, on the south side, to the right of the altar, obviously not its original location; sometime after 2003 a stem was added thereby raising the height of the font to 130 cm., and unlikely height for a medieval font [cf. Font Notes:
Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?). Described and illustrated in Domeño (1992): hemispherical basin mounted on a low cylindrical base; both plain. The CMdeN (ibid.) describes it as Romanesque, of the date of the primitive church [late-12th century]. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Navarra (2008), which remarks on the height of the font (over 1.30 cm) and concludes that it is not the original height. [NB: the font was visited and photographed ca. 2003 [cf. ImagesArea] at which time it consisted only of two pieces, the basin and the lower base, so the stem that raised its height to an unlikely 130 cm. must have been added between those dates -- the font is now [2008] located at the east end of the nave, on the south side, to the right of the altar, obviously not its original location]
