Local lore claims that this fountain, in the garden of the private residence ["carmen"] of the banking family Rodríguez-Acosta, in the Albaicín area of Granada capital, was originally a baptismal font, although no-one could identify the church where it came from. It is said to have served as a garden fountain since the 1920s [NB: the decoration on the basin does not appear typical of baptismal fonts of the area/time]
