Font Notes:
A font was illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. VI: 387), the very weathered basin of a medieval (?) baptismal font serving as an ornament in the cloisters garden. [NB: for that font see BSI entry for Estamariu]. There is another such font in the baptistery of this church; it consists of a roughly hemispherical basin that appears to have been a crude work originally; the stone is now [January 2012] badly eroded; a ribbed pattern decoration can still be discerned in some spots of the outer sides, and it seems that these ribs covered originally the whole outer area of the basin; the upper rim has a moulding, again, now much eroded; the basin is raised, and cemented to, a squat round lower base; there is a cut-out notch on the side of the upper rim, which probably housed part of the font-cover anchoring or locking hardware. [NB: cf. BSI entry for Estamariu for the baptismal font in the cloister of this cathedral].
