Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- ) as a baptismal font probably of the 12th or 13th century; the roughly hemispherical basin is a crude work and the only ornamentation is a flat moulding at the upper basin side; the surface appears very weathered and severely cracked at varios spots; no base. This same source gives the fonts at Santa Maria de Viladordis and the one at Sant Feliu de Terrassola, both in the Bages area, as cognates. [a rectangular vessel reported in this same church is identified in this source as an ossuary, although other sources have referred to it as as 'oil font' ["pica d'oli"] -- not listed in this Index]. Noted in Badia-Homs (2007).
