Described and illustrated in the EncycloCapranica [http://www.encyclocapranica.it/Arte/Fonte.htm] as a baptismal font in white marble of unknown authorship; the basin is oval in general shape, with narrow vertical sides ornamented with a row of grooves between two mouldings; the underbowl has pronounced ribbed pattern; the stem of the base is a pedestal of the baluster type; the lower base is triangular with scroll motifs at the angles. The font cover is ornamented with a scene of the Baptism of Christ; it is made of bronze and dated 1971. The above source identifies the coat-of-arms of archbishop Orazio Moroni on the lower base and provides the text for the inscription located there which identifies the donor and the date of the font, 1586.
