Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XV: 239) as probably a local work, especially since the nearby church of Sant Esteva de Gavàs has a similar, though not identical, font; it is of difficult dating because this style was popular and carried through centuries. The basin is cylindrical and rather on the shallow side, like many of the basins in the nearby Val d'Aran; roll moulding at top and bottom; between them, an framed by four vertical mouldings of the same type, are included twelve encircled 6-petal floral motifs, three in each compartment; these motifs differ from the ones at Gavàs by being smaller and with petals on the vertical axis; the base appears to be a roughly square pedestal on a square lower base, both plain. Described in the Gran Geografia Comarcal de Catalunya (1995, v. 12: 106) as an ancient stone baptismal font ornamented with incised motifs. Although neither of these sources mention it, or give details of, there is an inscription adorned with Greek crosses on the upper surface of the rim [transcription not available]. Cabestany, Matas & Palau (2005) suggest a date in the late 12th or early 13th century, attributable to a local workshop. Listed and illustrated in the Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic. Direcció General del Patrimoni Cultural de la Generalitat de Catalunya [http://invarquit.cultura.gencat.cat] [accessed 29 July 2018]. [NB: a series of photographs of this font were taken in June 2012 by Azucena Povill; the images show the font in a chapel off the north side of the nave, locked behind a railing; the three pieces of the font (basin, stem and lower base) are on the ground].
