Church Notes: original church here documented in 908; again in 1090; 12thC; present church is 18thC re-building
Described in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XV: 161) and in the Gran Geografia Comarcal de Catalunya (1995, v. 12: 101): small baptismal font (?) or holy-water stoup ornamented with incised geometric motifs [cf. Index entry for Boren No. 2 for a holy-water stoup (?) in the same church. Catalunya rom... (ibid.) dates to the late 12th or early 13th century. So do Cabestany, Matas & Palau (2005). The roughly hemispherical basin is decorated with three grooves all around, a sketchy vine and a wavy line between them; square shape on the bottom of the underbowl; plain circular stem and palin square lower base. Pyramidal wooden cover, octagonal, with large lozenge on each panel; Latin cross finial on double moulded base; access to the interior is via a little door that opens in one of the panels; painted; date unknown, perhaps 18th-century.
