The bottom of an Early-Christian baptismal font was recently discovered in the site of Chiesa S. Giovanni; it is believed to be dated to the 5th or 6th century [source: http://213.26.90.64/camperpiero/news-sito_2002/homepage_25-2002.htm]. Described in Pieve di San Giovanni ai campi di Piobesi Torinese [https://www.pievedipiobesi.org/la-pieve-di-san-giovanni/] [accesed 25 May 2025] as the possible base of an immersion font in a 5th-7th century building excavated in 1997: "gli scavi, compiuti dalla Sovrintendenza nel 1997, hanno riportato alla luce i resti di un grande edificio di culto databile al V-VII secolo, di cui è possibile ammirare, all’interno della pieve, i resti di un abside e forse la base di una vasca battesimale ad immersione".
