Illustrated in Bond (1908). Square immersion baptismal font of the "raised tank" type described and illustrated in Garzelli (2002); the plan is square with a round central depression that appears to have the drain hole; the floor surface of the inner well -except for the round depression- is ornamented with tiles or mosaic of geometrical design. The archaeological report posted in this church [25 June 2007] dates the original baptistery and font to the 5th century [although later alterations ensued -- the font stands in what had been the bath settings of a Roman 'domus' of the 1st century AD -- photographs of the latter are supplied within this record].
